The Caledonian Canal - Sonja paddles for Multiple Sclerosis - and more importantly because she can!

Posted on Monday 1st June, 2015

In May this year Sonja Jones, Multi Sclerocis sufferer, embarked on inspirational adventure to prove not only to herself but also to other MS sufferers that you can still go out and live your dreams.

Accompanied by Chris Brain and Erin Bastian and a team of intrepid boaters they set off to paddle the Caladonian Canal between Fort William, on the west coast of Scotland, all the along the Great Glen to Aberdeen on the East Coast of Scotland.

This 60 mile route took on Loch Oich and the infamous Loch Ness so was not for the faint hearted; high winds, freezing temperatures, big waves, midges and of the odd 'humpbacked monster' are all there to try and impede a would-be adventurer.

The expedition usually takes five days but the team reached their destination in a mere three!

We would like to congratulate Sonja on her amazing achievement both personal and for Multiple Sclerosis sufferers across the world.
